Our Story

Made slowly,
worn for years.

I started Willow & Stone Jewelry on a card table at the Ojai farmers market, stringing beads between customers and figuring out clasps as I went. Nine years later the table is bigger and the studio has a roof, but the pace hasn't changed. Everything is still cut, strung, or cast one piece at a time.

I grew up collecting rocks off the trail behind my parents' house and never really stopped. Now I source stone and clay beads from small suppliers in New Mexico and Oaxaca, and I cast my brass and silver findings in a garage studio five minutes from the shop. Nothing here comes off an assembly line.

Materials and process

Every piece moves through the same four stages before it leaves the studio. It's a slower way to work, but it's the reason a Willow & Stone piece holds up to years of daily wear.

Sourcing

I hand-pick stone, ceramic, and glass beads from small suppliers I've worked with for years, choosing color and shape in person whenever I can.

Casting

Clasps, charms, and settings are cast in solid brass and sterling silver in my garage studio, then filed and polished by hand.

Stringing

Each necklace or bracelet is knotted and strung on waxed linen or stainless wire, spaced and tied one bead at a time.

Finishing

I check every clasp and knot before a piece is photographed and boxed, and I sign off on each one myself.
